I am a Democrat, so yes, I am biased towards the Democrat vision. I won’t deny that. I’ll post angry, passionate messages about the Republican party and many will roll their eyes and just scroll on by because I have “blinders” on.
Yet let’s break down the message of the Republican Party right now, ok?
First off, what IS their message? What are they trying to sell to the American people right now? What is their vision for the future? Can anyone actually explain that? Because from my point of view, their only goal in life is to complain about the Democrats, block the Democrats, and make everyone afraid of the Democrats.
In four years of a Trump presidency, what did the GOP actually DO for America? They pulled out of a climate change deal because the Democrats joined it. They pulled out of a peace deal with Iran because Democrats started it. They tried over and over to end the Affordable Care Act because Democrats wrote it.
But what did the Republicans do to combat climate change? Nothing. What did they do to combat Iran? Nothing. What healthcare plan did they come up with if they repealed Obamacare? None! Everything they do is to end Democrat ideas, not actually push their own.
The only original thing they did was give a massive tax cut to the super rich. That’s it. A massive financial blow to our country. And now that Democrats are back in charge, suddenly they have found Jesus again on spending.
“Oh, they did more than that” you say.
Name it. Name what they did that was original and to better America. Name what they did that was not a counter to something Democrats had done or were trying to do. You can’t. Because everything they do is reactionary and to defy Democrats. To make you fear the Democrats. To spread lies about the Democrats.
So let’s talk about what the Democrats vision is.
They want better healthcare for everyone. Healthcare. They want people to be able to afford healthcare so they don’t die or go bankrupt if they get sick. And you call them socialists. You fight them. They are literally trying to get healthcare for YOU and you want no part of it. What is the Republican alternative? Can you name it?
The Democrats also want to allow everyone who can vote, to be able to. Expand voting hours, days, and locations. Give people the option to vote by mail. Make it easier for every American citizen to vote. Because isn’t that where true power comes from? The voice of the people deciding who should lead them? But what do Republicans do? Scream it causes fraud with NO EVIDENCE? Say Democrats are trying to steal elections WITH NO EVIDENCE? Then what do they do? Right now, all across Republican states, their state officials are introducing bill after bill that will remove days for voting, remove hours for voting, make it harder for people to register, make it harder for people to prove their identity, take away voting locations, purge voter counts. The Republicans are not only lying about voter fraud, they are actively trying to make it harder to vote.
And you wonder why I am a Democrat? You wonder why I keep posting rant after rant complaining about what the Republicans are doing?
Do you know that Republicans are still not condemning the violence at the Capital? In fact, one of the more prominent Senators in the GOP said he didn’t feel threatened by the rioters…however, if they were members of Black Lives Matter, he would have been.
Yes, you read that right. A member of the GOP said the rioters that literally killed a police officer and hunted politicians WERE NOT A THREAT. But if they had been black…….
The GOP and their followers….the party that “Backs the Blue” unless they try to stop them from overthrowing the government. Then they’ll kill the blue.
The GOP and their followers. The party of the military, right? Yet now here they are writing opinion pieces defending a talk show host who insulted the military as a mockery because they have pregnant women in uniform. They are calling the military weak.
The GOP and their followers….the party of nothing. The party with no ideas, no morals, not backbone, and no direction.
So yeah, I am biased. And damn proud of it.
